Nitrogen Cryotherapy Chamber: Whole-Body, down to -150°C

A whole-body cryotherapy chamber, also known as a cryosauna, cooled with liquid nitrogen. The user steps inside and the door is closed. An adjustable lifting platform then sets the standing height so that the head stays above the chamber opening, outside the cold. The body from the neck down is surrounded by a cold nitrogen vapour and air mixture at -110°C to -150°C, while the user breathes normal room air for the whole session. A standard session lasts 3 minutes. Oxygen and humidity monitoring are built in.

In a nitrogen chamber the head always stays outside. Nitrogen vapour lowers the oxygen level in the air it mixes with, so the user must never breathe the air inside the chamber. The lifting platform is adjusted for each user, raising or lowering them so the shoulders sit level with the opening and the head is fully above it, with the face and airways in room air. The platform carries users up to 120 kg.

Liquid nitrogen is drawn from the supplied 50 L zero-pressure container and processed into a gas and air mixture. This cold mixture is fed into the chamber and circulated by the control and circulation system, so the cold reaches the whole body below the neck evenly. The chamber itself runs on ordinary single-phase power; the cold comes from the nitrogen. Each session uses 3 to 7 kg of liquid nitrogen, adjusted to the user's body size.

Sessions are started and stopped with one button on the 15.6-inch touchscreen, which also shows the chamber temperature and session timer.

We offer both types of whole-body cryotherapy chamber. This nitrogen chamber costs considerably less to buy, runs on a standard 110 V or 220 V socket and uses little electricity. In return, it needs a regular liquid nitrogen supply, good ventilation and an operator present for every session, and the head stays outside the chamber.

Whole-body cryotherapy exposes the body to extreme cold, and nitrogen vapour lowers the oxygen level in the air if it builds up. Sessions must always be run by trained staff, with the operator present for the full session, in a well-ventilated room. The user's head must stay above the chamber opening at all times. Users must wear dry protective clothing on the hands, feet and ears, and remove all jewellery and wet clothing. Liquid nitrogen must be handled and stored according to the supplier's safety instructions. Not suitable for people who are pregnant or who have cardiovascular conditions, uncontrolled high blood pressure, cold allergy, Raynaud's syndrome or open wounds.
